When citrus growers in Florida are anticipating freezing temperatures, most growers resort to irrigation misting fog systems and outdoor heaters to protect their harvest. The fog hangs just above the ground trapping some of the ground heat to protect plants from freezing. Green houses use a combination of misting systems, grow lights, vents, fans and patio heaters.
